The north by north manifesto
The value that is here, now.
We do not seek developed, rearranged, pre-staged stories. We dig relentlessly into "the value that is here, now," raising the resolution of a place to its limit. The crunch of snow underfoot, the sway of the wind, birdsong. The moment you turn your attention to those subtle changes, an ordinary day becomes an experience found nowhere else in the world.
Weaving stories starting from people.
The starting point of our stories is neither land nor product, but "people." How those who live here spend their time, the aesthetics of their judgment, their unbending pride. "Who you spend time with" determines the quality of an experience. north by north is a place to look carefully at people, to edit, and to encounter their ways of living.
Becoming a member of the community.
We do not offer experiences that are received only one way. Participants are not mere guests; they are "members of the community" who belong to the circle. Getting to know one another, sweating together, taking on a region's challenges as one's own. What is here is not a relationship of consumption, but a chain of trust.

north by north is not a service for "going on a trip," but infrastructure for "forming relationships." Returning each season, layering stories. Not a one-time thrill, but a relationship that leads to nature positive — one you want to come back to again and again.

We do not make nature a stage for consumption. Protecting nature, tending the environment, passing value to the next generation — that work itself is the most precious experience. A place "where your own hands have worked and your heart has connected" is what becomes a true home. Farmland you protected yourself, a trail you cleared yourself. What you leave behind on this land becomes the vitality that carries you into tomorrow.
